You need cholesterol. It is very important for making cell membranes. Your body makes most of the cholesterol inside of you naturally in your liver, and then we also eat food that has cholesterol. There are two kinds of cholesterol, one that is better than the other. It is good for you to eat foods that are rich with the better kind of cholesterol. You need a blood test to learn what your levels of the two kinds of cholesterols are inside your body.
If you are having chest pain, you should see your doctor right away. There are many more likely reasons for chest pain than just excessive cholesterol levels.

Everyone has cholesterol. The big thing is that you need to know if you have an abundance of good or bad cholesterol. During your annual physical ask your doctor specifically about your cholesterol--it means blood work. Good luck~

Yes its a blood test. Usually people that eat a fatty diet have high cholesterol but not always. I have a friend that works out everyday doesn't touch any unhealthy food and hers is high. I eat whatever I want about 6 times a day and mine is super low.

You need to get blood drawn and tested to find out the exact cholesterol count. There are many people who are in great shape that have high cholesterol. This is the genetic kind.

You have to make an appointment with your Doctor for a check up and do not eat or drink anything before you go. Be sure to tell the one your talking to what you are wanting. They will do a simple blood test and tell you about your good and bad levels.

No, the only way to know your cholesterol is to go to the lab. Get the proper bloodwork done and learn what the numbers mean. The HDL should be high and the LDL should be low.
I must add something:
Fatty foods do not contribute to high cholesterol levels. We all have an organ that processes cholesterol called a liver. When insulin and glucagon are balanced the liver slows production of this material which leads to a balanced cholesterol level. The only way to balance your insulin and glucagon is to reduce your sugar intake ( Don't forget Carbohydrates is sugar ).

You need a blood test to determine that. Weight does matter a bit, but it's in your blood.
