Can I Take My Blood Pressure Meds And Supplements Before My Cholesterol Test?
I have heard that one should not eat anything 8 to 12 hours prior to giving blood to check your Cholesterol levels and receiving an accurate reading. But does that include medications? Every morning I take my Blood Pressure medication along with a Vitamin D Pill, a multivitamin, and a Fish Oil Capsule. Should I NOT take any of these drugs until after my blood test, or is it ok for me to take them prior?

When fasting for a blood sugar or cholesterol test you should take nothing except water, the reasoning is simple….you don’t know what fillers are put into these medications or supplements that could cause a faulty result.
Go early for the test, then take them. A couple of hours isn’t going to matter but a faulty reading will.
Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription), and herbal medications that you are taking. Also tell them about any medication allergies and medical conditions that you may have. Ask your doctor or pharmacist whether you need to stop taking any of your medications before the procedure.
That´s something your doctor should have told you when he ordered the blood work up. Ask your doctor or call the lab and ask them.
do not take the fish oil, everything else is fine.
