Can Alcohol In Excess Have An Effect On Your Cholesterol Levels?

I went to a party where I drank a little too much (I was drunk, but not about to pass out, just kinda “jolly”). The next day I went to have an urine and blood analyses (my mum made the appointement and told me on the same day).
My results came back, everything alright, except for my cholesterol, which was always low, and it was a bit high. Could the alcohol have had an effect on that?

Yes, alcohol is a carbohydrate which can elevate both blood sugar. Excess sugar can indirectly affect blood cholesterol but the connection usually takes months if not years.

  2. alcohol can elevate the cholesterol levels
